Fox News denied that any of its staffers supplied material for Donald Trump at the Al Smith Dinner on Thursday night, despite the former president’s claim on the network that “a couple people from Fox” provided jokes for his performance.

While Fox staffers helped with his monologue, he disliked most of their suggestions, the former president said.

Donald Trump said Friday that Fox News employees wrote some of the jokes he told at the Al Smith dinner the night before. Then, hours later, the conservative network denied it. During Trump’s appearance on “ Fox & Friends ,” host Steve Doocy said the former president’s material was “real funny ― who helped you with it?”
