U.S. B-2 bombers attacked weapons caches belonging to Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, the first such apparent use of the strategic stealth bomber against the militia.

The US carried out a round of strikes in Yemen against the Iran-backed Houthis on Wednesday evening, according to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, targeting five underground weapons storage facilities using B-2 stealth bombers.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said U.S. Air Force B-2 bombers were part of an operation to conduct "precision strikes" on five underground weapons storage locations in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.
