The former MTV host, who has been battling breast cancer for nearly six years, shared in an interview with CNN that her cancer is at Stage 4.

Former MTV VJ Ananda Lewis, 51, revealed that she has Stage 4 breast cancer. She refused a double mastectomy. Now taking drug for metastatic cancer.

On Oct. 15, Lewis joined a CNN roundtable to talk about her diagnosis. She admitted regret for how she handled her original diagnosis in 2019.

Former MTV VJ Ananda Lewis, 51, said she refused surgical treatment for stage III breast cancer even though it was recommended by her doctor in a new interview with CNN.Lewis pursued alternative treatments for breast cancer;

They wanted to take both [breasts]. They wanted to do all of these big things that I was not ready for,” said the TV personality, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020.

Lewis, the host of the 1990s MTV show “Hot Zone,” tried to fight her illness without undergoing a double mastectomy. She says she is responding well after resuming treatment.
