Junior doctors in West Bengal are continuing their hunger strike as they prepare to meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday. The protest was sparked by the rape and murder of a fellow doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9,

However, the protesting doctors refused to end their hunger strike until all their demands were met but agreed to join the talks on Monday.

Agitating junior doctors are expected to meet with West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee today to resolve the impasse over the RG Kar rape-murder case.

A delegation of junior doctors will attend the meeting called by theChief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Nabanna Sabhaghar tomorrow afternoon.

Notably, after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee spoke with the junior medics over phone on Saturday, Chief Secretary Manoj Pant had sent an email to the junior doctors asking them to withdraw the hunger strike before the meeting at the state secretariat Nabanna on Monday at 5 pm.
