The 2024-25 season is going to be a tough one for the Utah Jazz and on Friday night they got a taste of what is coming their way.

The Utah Jazz couldn't finish off their preseason with a win on Friday night, as the team fell in a pretty hard loss against the Portland Trail Blazers, 86-124, taking the Jazz to a 4-2 preliminary record before Tuesday's regular-season opener.

The Portland Trail Blazers end their preseason schedule Friday night at home against the Utah Jazz. The 2-1 Blazers start the regular season Wednesday at home against the Golden State Warriors. The injury status for a few players remains up in the air.

The Trail Blazers announced Saturday in a press release that they have picked up their 2025-26 team options for three players on rookie-scale contracts.

Early in the Portland Trail Blazers’ victory Friday night, Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler beat rookie Donovan Clingan to a rebound. A bit disgusted, Blazers coach Chauncey Billups immediately challenged his 7-foot-2 rookie.
