Israel says it is checking reports of casualties but accused Hamas officials of sharing "exaggerated" figures.

The strike on Monday hit a small apartment building in the village of Aito, far from the Hezbollah militant group’s main areas of influence in the south and east of Lebanon.

The Israeli military said it “struck a target belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization" and that it would look into reports of civilian deaths.
