Tropical Storm Nadine likely to form
Tropical Storm Nadine Forms in the Caribbean
Tropical Storm Nadine formed in the northwestern Caribbean Sea near Belize late Friday local time, becoming the 14th named storm of this year’s Atlantic hurricane season. It is expected to make landfall in Belize on Saturday. Nadine is expected to be a short-lived storm, but forecasters warned of heavy rain as it moves inland on Saturday.
National Hurricane Center Issues Warning on Potential Tropical Storm Nadine
Tropical Storm Nadine, if it forms, will "fizzle out slowly" as it treks across Belize, Hoegg said. Most spaghetti models—or computer models illustrating potential storm paths—anticipate that the storm won't grow stronger than a Category 1 hurricane, if it even reaches hurricane strength.
Tropical Storm Nadine could form before making landfall in Belize
As PTC 15 tracks over the warm waters of the Caribbean, it will strengthen into Tropical Storm Nadine before making landfall in Belize. Once over land, the system will weaken and dissipate. Tropical storm watches stretch across the eastern coastline of the Yucatan peninsula and Belize. This system will not impact the United States.
